Talk about a wicked cool costume. Man I wish I had thought of that...
I try not to be a Windows bigot, I feel that use the best tools for the job. And defining best can have various intricate complexities. I use Linux quite regularly, and I use Windows 2000 regularly. They both have things that my company needs. But I like to read articles that point out some umm shall we say overzealousness by people. Kind of like this one.

Okay I got this link to Slate from a friend of mine. Nice to see a relatively PC/Liberal source have some unbiased reporting...

Caught for sexual misconduct with a minor Ronald McDonald is hauled away by police and then attempts suicide.
Okay I remember her from Interview with the Vampire, but she has definitely grown up.
I just installed Opera (the Browser) at work and at home. I have to say I like the fact its taking up far less of a memory footprint than IE does. Having three instances of IE running, with each taking up between 8-16 megs of RAM adds up. There are few little things but hey, what do you want for free?
Oh and on a similar run, I just heard another report from Afghanistan on NPR. They were talking with a Northern Alliance border guard. And interviewing refuges as they crossed. They were talking about how the Taliban has been parking tanks and military vehicles near homes, and that if you protested to them you were punished. Excuse me, WHY ISN'T this being reported????
Okay here is a little bit of a rant, actually its probably gonna be a good size rant. Why the heck is it that usually rather liberal sounding NPR, seems to be the only news agency that is sending out reports about what Afghans are actually saying themselves?
They had a report about the bombing and the accuracy of it. There were LOCAL Afghan relief workers who were IMPRESSED and thought the U.S. was doing the BEST job ever of ONLY targeting military operations. There was one again LOCAL relief head who said that he had seen previous groups bomb carelessly throughout the cities hitting civilians all the time.
There was another that was absolutely IRATE at the Pakistani's protesting because of how the Taliban actually treats the people.
Why don't we see this on CNN, MSNBC, CBS, or NBC??? Is there something wrong with us fighting a war, do people HAVE to feel like we are horrible people? Its damn agravating.

Whatever you do, you can look here. And if you figure out what it means let me know cause I sure do not know...
Bored? Don't be.
Okay being a true geek, I saw this on another site. Basically Gnome for Win32. I figure cool, I mean I like toys, everyone likes toys. And I think to myself I will have to play with this down the road, any other kind of shell but explorer would be fun. Then I read more, it comes with no X server. Okay, so you have this cool product that lots of geeks will want, but they need to go find an X server. Excuse me, do you KNOW how much Hummingbird Exceed costs? Why can't anyone do a free X server for Win32 (yes I know there was MIX, but it costs now). Is it TOO much to ask? Otherwise why bother porting stuff like Gnome or KDE, if no one can afford the bottom layer. Just plain silly....
A tough job but someone has to do it, just why couldn't it be me?
I like Dave Barry. He writes some cool stuff. And you know whats really really cool about him, he has two, get it TWO first names. Not many people can claim that. Its just damn cool.

You know I am really starting to like this judge. Course I am sure if people start appealing the upper courts will just over turn his sentences. He has a point though if the jails are over-crowded maybe its time for some other forms of punishment...
