Please do not encourage the idiots waiting for Star Wars II anymore. Please, we beg of you...

Okay I think I shall be adding this great news source to my links...
I saw this headline about Clinton, and could not resist posting it...
Well we have had our cat since Tuesday. Its gone pretty well. She is very friendly and playful, unfortunately she prefers to spend her time downstairs. Which is great for the kids, but means she has not spent much time with the rest of the family. Last night we kind of shut the door and kept her upstairs so she would at least get some time upstairs. We made sure to pet her and everything. The weirdest thing happened though.
We have a dog as well, he is a "Smooth Collie" purebred. I.e. he is a collie (just like lassie), but has short hair. Well he has seen her before and she has seen him, but last night he was roaming around upstairs and she was in the living room in a cat thingy we have. And he became immensely afraid. He was actually trembling so hard his teeth were chattering. For a while his hackles were up, but mostly he was just shaking in fear. I have no idea why as we have another cat, and that cats been there since we go thim, and she and him just kind of exist together, he will sniff her and she will whack him in the nose, but since she has no claws it does nothing.. But last night he was petrified of this little cat. We felt so sorry for him, we don't know where it comes from, as we got him when he was 4 months old and he is now over 2, so its not like he has been living with a maniac cat...

Man I loved watching the Super Friends, and my favourite was definitely Green Lantern, unfortunately this is a pretty accurate summary...

Okay now I wish I had an idea that went over as well as Webshots, I mean gesh talk about a nice profit!
Egads trying to get this template working with the template server on and off is a big pain in the ass!!!!
Saw an awesome movie last night Momento. Its kind of like a who-dun-it movie, with a twist, well a really big twist. The story is that of Lenny, Lenny is looking for the person who raped and murdered his wife. Unfortunately during that incident he was also attacked, and he suffered a head trauma. The head injury damaged his short term memory such that he cannot remember anything new past a few minutes ago. So he goes around taking pictures of things and writing notes on the back of them.
The way they did the movie, you start at the end, and each subsequent scene is the scene building up to the last one. So you see the confrontation between Lenny and the person as the first thing. Then you see the scene before that. So just like Lenny you have no idea what happened 5 minutes ago, except for the pictures with the notes. The one advantage you have is you know how it ends.
I like the way they ran it backwards, but it would have still been well done if they did it forwards as well, it was that good.

Good, this guy, sums up my thoughts on the new iMac...
Ahhh yes, The top 10 vaporware items of 2001, hmmm a remarkable amount of them are video games. Wonder why.... Could it be that they are always building em such that your latest greatest video card is too friggin slow to play em and you need to upgrade to something thats not out yet, or maybe its cause they are too busy testing them....
Argh! Twice I have gone to fix the javascript errors on the template and the template server has been offline. Argh, maybe later....
Okay I just brought in (well last week) an old video card to work, so now I have two cards in my system and thus, two monitors. And I have to say I love it, talk about doubling your desktop space. I also was using an alternate shell PureLS, and loved it, unfortunately I could not seem to get it to recognize the second monitor properly. So I had to go back to using LiteStep. The only reason I stoped using Litestep was because I wanted something that took even less resources, which PureLS did. But now I am onto a newer build of Litestep and I am liking it. I have dual monitors, my Popups work fine and I have a Virtual Window Manager with 12 windows. I could not ask for more real estate.
Hmmmm now if I could only get a second monitor at home.....
Oh god, another rant I think. Yet again there is tremendous hupla around the Mac Expo. Yet again the hype is thick enough to cut with a knife. Yet again what do they show people. A new iMac, with an 800 Mhz processor, oooooh ahhhh sorry, but yes I know Mhz is not the mark of performance but really its not comparable to an AMD 1400+ or an Intel 2 Ghz. And then they go cram everything in back of the display, I am sorry but if making things tight and un-upgradeable is innovative, then other companies could have done that ages ago.
Yet again I am thuroughly unimpressed. Give me the hardware and I will make my own system, heck even something from Dell or Gateway is more upgradeable...

Hmmmm sorry but I would rather let my son flunk, thanks.
We are getting another cat tomorrow. She is from The Marlee Animal Rescue. She is about 2 years or less old, and she had a litter of kittens in the last month. We looked in 3 states to find the right attitude cat. And we think she is it, friendly and playful for the kids, and still able to sit and cuddle. Her name is Sunset.
So I weant to check out a former friends [ed. link removed out of respect for someone's wishes] website. Apparently my update of yesterday pissed him off and he has decided to "quit" his site. Apparently he took offense at me enjoying my life, and posting it, thinking it directly aimed against him. Apparently, its okay to read a lightly veiled story about myself and my family on his site, but posting about the good times I have, is not okay. Thats okay, thats what I have come to expect in the last month.
See I had a friend that was down, and that I felt really bad for. Or as he would prefer to call it pitied. I do not think it was pity, I think it was like having a friend that you hated seeing down. But apparently that was not enough. Talking to him about it, listening to him talk about it was not good enough. Apparently being friends with his ex was too much for him. So he decided to cut me from his life, thats okay and I respect that he has to do what he has to do to make himself feel better.
And I read all the posts he put on all his various view points, and how often they in fact were very often talking about myself or my family though never saying so directly. I read a story about a couple of kings, and thats okay, cause even though you could not get much more obviously being about us, thats fine, even basically accusing me of deserting him, thats fine, hey if its helping him work out his feelings, thats okay. I would rather see him happy and not friends with me than unhappy and friends.
Apparently though, the fact I am happy and I posted about the great day I had for the first Sunday of the new year is mean and spiteful. Well, I feel very sorry about that, sorry for him.

You know sometimes its just so nice to have people to hang out with, friends to go places with, people who actually enjoy spending time with you. The whole family went to the pond today and we went ice skating, technically the kids went ice skating, we just played with them. Their God Mother went along as well. We played hockey with a rock and were "checking" people. The kids had a great time and there were tons of people out there.
Its times like that that you really appreciate the friends that you have.
